Free Internet games for infants and toddlers?
What are some good websites to go to for infants and toddlers to play internet games for free. I had found one through google, but I can’t find it any more. My son is two and can’t play anything that requires pushing more than one button.
I’m really looking for answers from other MOM’s, that know what they are talking about.
Thanks to those of you who actually answered my question and to the rest of you, your advise is not wanted or needed. I do play with my kid, but I don’t think it is a bad thing to teach my kid how to use a computer. My son is two and can count to 25 and knows his ABC’s and what sound they make. He was speaking full sentences by the time he was 12 months old!!! He potty trained himself!!! I let my son watch quality TV and he is not over weight or dumb.
If my son wants to learn how to use a computer I am sure going to let him.

instead of pushing him in front of a box, plop him down with : books, paper and crayons, make your own play-dough, take a hike, play outside, blow bubbles, sing and make up silly songs, tell stories. it doesn’t matter if it is TV, computer, or XBox, these things do little to help your child yet they do more to hinder. Kids need to get out and explore the world AND most importantly carry on intelligent conversations (age appropriate, but yet with sense and curiosity). TV and video media are addictive as candy and drugs. Limit exposure to these things.

Does a 2-year-old have to start playing games with computer? Is he/she really able to work with the keyboard or mouse?
I mean there are so many other things it can do, why do you want to push him/her to computer?

uhm, it’s not a good idea for 2 and 3 year olds to be in front of monitors. You would be best to focus on their motor skills with old fashioned toys and games.
“I’m really looking for answers from other MOM’s, that know what they are talking about.”
how about this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4664749/
The flickering images from tv seem to be the culprit. Your Monitor does the exact same thing.
“But pediatric psychiatrists don’t buy the pitch. Experts continue to warn that toddlers who spend too much time in front of a television can later develop problems focusing and paying attention. They also say that despite the wonders of modern technology, screen time should never be a substitute for that critical, human-to-human face time.”

Kids are increasingly being sat infront of monitors/tv’s for hours at a time and there are more and more kids being treated for ADHD…..uhm, can we say “connection” boys and girls?
There’s a teacher below that has FIRST HAND experience with this.
Just understand that this is new research associating ADHD with tv/computer use at an age of less than 3. And if you want to know how much fun THAT can be, just punch the term ADHD into the questions search bar and take a look at the questions those parents are asking.

I’ve been told the cbeebies web-site is pretty good. Though not having any children I’ve not looked at it myself.
